The name of Ubud comes from the word ubad, Balinese for medicine originating from the healing properties of a certain herb growing near the Campuhan River.
Until now, Ubud is the center for spirituality and healing properties.
Ubud is a remarkable town in the middle of the island of Bali. For more than a century, it has been the island's preeminent centre for fine arts, dance, and music.
Ubud is arguably the best place to use as a base if you are visiting Bali; if you are looking for culture, comfort, nature, and inspiration. Ubud is surrounded by most of the things that bring people to Bali -scenic rice fields, small villages, art and craft communities, ancient temples, palaces, rivers, and lot of other sightseeing places. All this you can explore with a bicycle or motorbike on your own or you go with one of our tours in a very relaxed way.
